2021 - Holst Porzellan goes Green
Since 2003, Holst Porzellan's purchasing, administration, and management have operated paperlessly. Only invoices to customers were still printed. In 2005, accounting, filing, and invoicing followed. On December 16, 2005, all the company's photocopiers were decommissioned. By the end of 2010, the entire company archive and all files, dating back to 1955, had been scanned and digitized. There have been no more file folders since 2006, and some visitors joke that our offices look like an exhibition in a furniture store.
Incoming paper is immediately scanned and shredded. The paper waste is then used in the warehouse as filler for small shipments in the shipping department. All fan-operated computers and PCs have been decommissioned and replaced with more energy-efficient technology.
Since 2010, Holst Porzellan has placed great importance on enhancing its ecological competence and added environmental protection and sustainability to the company's core principles on October 1, 2015.
On January 1, 2019, Holst Porzellan switched its power supply to 100% green energy from hydropower . The Corona crisis, with short-time working and home office in 2021, was used to equip our offices and exhibition rooms with state-of-the-art LED lighting technology, improving not only the working atmosphere but also halving the electricity consumption for our lighting.
In February 2021, we began transitioning our vehicle fleet. The shareholders' goal is to replace all existing "combustion vehicles" by 2023 with energy-efficient vehicles with a maximum carbon dioxide emission of 50 grams per kilometre driven.
Certainly, our actions will not save the world! But the least we can do is try! And we don't want to miss that chance! More.
