Following the trend of sustainability, nature-related materials and urban designs, Holst Porcelain/Germany has redefined a new kind of hotel-ware After a long time of development it was possible by using new production processes to fire a decal which corresponds to the look and feel of real wood, but cutting-resistant, dishwasher-safe, microwave-safe and 100% hygienic. The guarantee of hygiene and cleanliness is underlined by the deliberately white underside of the porcelain elements. >

The relation to the environment and the urban lifestyle helped materials such as wood, melamine and bamboo reach a high popularity falsely. Many of these materials contain toxins (formaldehyde) and are therefore neither environmentally friendly nor heat resistant. Wood panels are oiled or treated with solvent-based paints and swell when rinsing. Untreated, they are totally not cut-resistant and cannot be 100% cleaned even in case of chemical rinsing. These facts have led us to further develop the trend in porcelain. High-quality feldspar porcelain is and remains one of the most hygienic materials on earth. It does not contain any foreign chemical substances and has a lifetime durability. It is an ideal material to implement the nature style for food thereby to protect people and the environment and to refine them with a modern design language. We interviewed innumerable restaurant managers, fashion specialists and important people of the HoReCa industry in order to find the right style of wood in which we implement our Wood Design.
